I really like this sūtra. Because, in my experience, I was always told that yoga will help me become more subtle / sensitive, e.g. meditating on the breath. Yes it becomes more subtle and you notice more. But yoga is also about the gross and manifest. And once you start noticing that there is a whole load of practical things we can do to bring about transformation. So thank you yoga, Patañjali, James, for reminding me the subtlest and the grossest, the smallest and the greatest, are worthy of my enquiry. It's just easy to go for the subtle only, because who doesn't want to be subtle? A great quality. But noticing basic things and doing something about it is definitely harder. You say to yourself, I can do that, soon...mañana.
