Hi James. loved this talk on the Gita. Here is my thought on the meaning of 2.69. when others see clearly the sage knows that they are still just in one of the heaven realms of the monkey mind. He recognizes this is still night so remains awake.

Very interesting verse...and thank you James for inviting us to work it out for ourselves..the thoughts that came to me ; the wise one is just like us ordinary folk, he will not be wise for long if he forgets that he needs to enquire constantly, to acknowledge the desire and fear that drives everything in humans.  That this higher level of consciousness can only be sustained if fuelled by self study and questioning.  And life throws tests at us all the time if we care to take them
