The question is, what is my identity? Is my identity the body? Or is my identity that the spiritual element that has taken on my body, which is why I quoted Socrates earlier, saying you can bury me wherever you like if you can find me because he's identifying himself, obviously, the Greek word is Demon, d a m o n, which basically means angelic spirit. In English, it sounds like demon. And so that's the reason I'm spelling it out.

And so he's identifying himself with the spirit. So this is really, in a way, one of the questions that often gets raised in the spiritual teaching. What is my true identity? Am I the body? Or am I the element of the spirit that has taken on the body temporarily.

For its own purpose, not for the purpose of the body, but for the purpose of the spiritual element. So therefore, the fear of death arises if I identify myself with my body, and then anybody would agree, however much I may extend the life of this body another hundred years. It will still sooner or later will die. These days, my impression is that the person oldest person has lived about what hundred and fifteen years or Ravindra thirteen years or something like this. And there is as you were saying earlier, also, there is a strong tendency to find some chemical elements or something.

That will assist this body to live longer and longer. Essentially, letting this body live longer basically means that I am identifying myself completely with the body. Whereas from a spiritual perspective, there is no reason to be against the body. The body is obviously required. As I mentioned earlier, also, with the spirit without the body is lame.

Body without the spirit is blind.
