Welcome Olivia!  This show will be of great service to many here on Yoga Anytime and by extension to their family and loved ones.  It seems like everyone has something that troubles them physically, along with the mental frustration and anguish that can go along with that.  As I've just entered my 60's I can attest to that 😉.  I'm really looking forward to practicing with you and integrating your wisdom into my daily life!

Thank you for your very warm welcome, Jenny!  Your comments are so true.  Injuries are an opportunity to build a new relationship with our bodies, and just like any relationship, there are times that include frustration and anguish as you say.  In recognizing that the injury is a bit like a small child, and needs tending to (a cultivated response) instead of chastising or looking away (highly normal responses),  we can build understanding of the area in question and often there's a movement forward, an opening,  a softening.  That's my hope with these sequences.  Let me know how they go for you! I'd love to hear more.

Olivia B I love this simile that our injuries are like small children that we need to be gentle and loving with. It's so hard not to be frustrated when we can't operate at the level we are used to. We really can see more progress with softness. thank you for reminding me!

Yes yes Elizabeth M, and for some people it works better to think of themselves like a puppy or kitten.  Any image of an innocent, vulnerable being that inspires compassion will do!  With practice, we can re-orient towards a kinder, more loving relationship with our bodies.
