definitely more pilates than yoga. it feels more like an exercise class than a yoga class, so I was disappointed. probably good if you are looking for straight core work
Janika E thank you for taking the class and for your feedback, Janika!. It’s definitely a challenge to thread the needle, with fusion classes, as students prefer more of one approach versus another. We definitely tried our best to ride that line in this practice with following a classic vinyasa spirit & structure, while including elements such as Surya Namaskar A, Vasistasana, Kapalabhati pranayama, and dropping in classical Pilates mat repertoire into the transitional points. I’d welcome your suggestions on what you’d like to experience differently, please feel free to share!
Thank you, Shelley, the class was a very creative fusion of Pilates and yoga. I probably didn’t read the description, which often helps me in preparing for new techniques. Your thoughtful response was helpful. And, I have enjoyed many of your classes over the years I’ve been a member of Yoga Anytime.
