Read About This Teacher
Dalton Grant grew up in Kansas City and is a devout Chiefs fan, it's almost a law. He attended the University of Kansas for a year and then realized he didn't want to do homework anymore so he headed out to Los Angeles to see what there was to see. Music and acting was Dalton's life for decades. He was in a band for 15 years and loved it! He toured a bit, partied a lot and made some great music with his best friends in the world. He believes that music is the language of the soul and we all speak it. That's why he absolutely loves using it in his classes to find a direct route to the heart while connecting the mind and body, drawing ourselves closer to what needs to be felt and more immersed into the moment.
In 2008 Dalton started practicing Nichiren Buddhism and received Gohonzon the same year. He believes that Buddhism, particularly the school of Zen, is an unequaled complement to yoga. Bringing presence to the moment and presence to the body. Around this same time he began practicing yoga pretty regularly. In 2012, Dalton completed his first 500 hour teacher training with [Modo Yoga](https://modoyoga.com/) in Montreal and a few months later he completed the Modo Flow Training in Kelowna, BC. Dalton then went on to devour workshops and trainings whenever he could. He had the privilege to train with some really great ones – Noah Mazé, Joe Barnett, Ray Long, Jules Mitchell, Jay Fields, and Ted Grand, to name a few. Dalton now lives in Ojai, CA with his wife and daughter, and teaches locally at Light + Space and in Los Angeles at Modo Yoga.
Dalton's classes are designed to challenge the student physically in order to find presence to the moment. He believes in meticulous anatomical cuing blended with rad music to connect more fully to mind, body and the experience in the moment. All of his classes are focused on a full body experience so we can take care of the whole show in a short amount of time.
Dalton's motto for everything: How you do anything is how you do everything.
