Description

If you need to feel better fast, Melina recommends the meditative task of pulling weeds. Cooking, taking photos, and moving her body are more of her feel-better tools. And her kitty, Mingus, is there with Melina all throughout the day, snuggling on her lap, accessing kisses from her desktop, and ending the day together with bedtime cuddles.

One of the things I do to feel better on a regular basis, actually, is I go outside and just pull weeds. I really meditative away from the computer. I'm kinda close to the earth. Oftentimes at wintertime, I'm more drawn to being in the kitchen and making broth and cooking as a way to feel better. And maybe across all seasons, I head outside a lot to go take photos to kind of connect to the awesomeness of nature.

It's where I tend to find a lot of inspiration. I love to be outside. I love to move my body and play sports, and I'm a little bit of a tomboy. So, I get a little competitive in my sports. Mingus interacts with me where I I'm sitting, he loves to be on my lap now. He loves to be on my desk when I'm working, and it's the perfect height for him to give me kisses.

And then bedtime. Like, he has to be, like, right here, but it's kind of a nice ritual we have of ending the day together.

I can relate to all of this - except the weeds! ย For me, I find it more meditative to watch my HUSBAND pull the weeds ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, sweet Mingus emanates pure love โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Ha! Yes, pulling weeds isn't for everyone. Glad everyone gets to meet Mingus here, he's my in house muse. Co-creator of many YA yoga classes. (insert happy cat face here).

We usually have rain but not lately, so I spend a lot of time watering and always end up weeding at the same time. And yes it's a peaceful time being outdoors with the plants, birds, and cat watching from the top of the compost bin. Inside the house the cat loves to be on the yoga mat.
Melina Meza
Amazing how cats gravitate toward the calm of the yoga mat. I'll often find Mingus sitting there with his paws tucked under deep in meditation.

Nature for sure invites to meditation. I'me grieving the recent lost of my beloved cat who gave me 10 years of unconditional love. I miss him so much. Pets help us connect with the present moment.ย

So sorry for you loss Lina. How lovely you had 10 years of snuggles, purrrrr, and LOVE from your beloved. Pets never live as long as we'd like them too and YES, they are great meditation teachers. So in the moment.
